Men and women of all ages and skin types with mild acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, dry skin, and/or blemish-prone skin may benefit from microdermabrasion treatment. Microdermabrasion can also help address fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots.

Types of Microdermabrasion
Here at Facial Aesthetic Concepts, we offer three types of microdermabrasion treatments that can help with common skin issues and improve skin health:
Microdermabrasion
If your skin needs something more than a basic facial, microdermabrasion offers a deeper exfoliation that includes a cleanse, extractions (if needed), a hydrating mask, upper body massage, and medical-grade finishing products. Not only is this a spa cosmetics treatment for the face, but it can also be performed on the neck, chest, arms, and back of the hands.
Microdermabrasion — Length: 60 minutes Cost: $130
Enhanced Microdermabrasion
This enhanced treatment combines our mild chemical peeling agents with a microdermabrasion treatment to provide more dramatic results. Enhanced microdermabrasion provides a manual exfoliation to reveal refreshed and healthy skin. This treatment can assist with age spots, fine lines, and wrinkles.
Enhanced Microdermabrasion – Length: 60 minutes Cost: Starting at $170
New Age Peel
The New Age peel combines microdermabrasion with a superficial TCA peel that provides an intense exfoliation of dead skin cells. This TCA peel can help address uneven skin tone and pre-cancerous lesions as well as fine lines and wrinkles. The after-effect of this peel is more refreshed and vibrant skin.
New Age peels — Length: 60 minutes Cost: $285

Our microdermabrasion treatments are performed by our highly trained medical estheticians, who will first discuss your health history and aesthetic goals, then inform you about treatment options and expectations.
If you are receiving microdermabrasion or enhanced microdermabrasion, you can expect to receive a cleanse, hydrating mask, a massage, and extractions, if needed. With the New Age peel, the depth of the TCA peel will be tailored to the condition of your skin and the results you are looking for.
Your Microdermabrasion Recovery & Results
Recovery and results will vary depending on the type of treatment received. One of the biggest benefits of microdermabrasion is the minimal downtime.
With the New Age peel, you may experience some post-treatment discoloration and sloughing due to the exfoliation and regeneration of the skin. However, any discoloration or sloughing should begin to resolve around 4 to 7 days following your treatment.
The number of treatments needed will depend on your skin health and your desired results. Typically, we recommend 2 to 3 treatments with 1 treatment per month to maintain your results.

Microdermabrasion FAQs
How much does microdermabrasion cost?
There isn’t one set cost for microdermabrasion. The price can vary based on the size and location of the treated area, the technology being used and the geographic location of the facility. On average, a microdermabrasion session will cost $100, but can be $250 or more.
How can I find the best provider for microdermabrasion near me?
Not everyone who offers microdermabrasion has the best training. In some cases, they might not have any training or certifications at all. So, to start with, look for centers that specifically focus on facial treatments. Then, make sure they explain the training their staff has and any certifications they possess. Keep in mind that when a center has doctors on staff, you are likely to get better results than when there are just technicians.
Does microdermabrasion hurt?
Microdermabrasion should not hurt, though some clients have skin that is more sensitive than others. If your skin is particularly sensitive, you can expect it to be somewhat sore. All clients are likely to have some tenderness directly after the procedure. The skin will also be a bit red. However, all of this should go away quickly.
How long is recovery from microdermabrasion?
After microdermabrasion, a new layer of skin will be exposed. This skin is tender and needs to be protected. Recovery isn’t significant, mostly just staying out of the sun and keeping irritants off the skin. Clients will usually experience complete healing in 10 days, though some will have slower or speedier recovery times.
Can microdermabrasion be combined with other treatments?
In general, microdermabrasion is done on its own. If you are looking for skin treatments on different parts of the body, it should be okay to combine treatments.
For example, you could have microdermabrasion on the face but a laser resurfacing on your bottom and thighs to get ready for a beach trip in the coming months. However, you will not want multiple procedures on the same spot as this can damage the skin.
What are the risks involved with microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a relatively low-risk treatment. However, nothing is without its risks. Those who have had pharmaceutical acne treatment in the last year should let their provider know before their treatment, as they may need to wait before getting microdermabrasion.
After treatment, clients should keep an eye out for any signs of a problem. This includes bleeding, severe redness, swelling or any other unexpected skin changes. Keep in mind that if you use the right sun protection, the risk of side effects will be significantly lowered.
How can I prepare for microdermabrasion?
There are a few things to keep in mind leading up to your appointment. These are as follows:
- Avoid Retin-A for 72 hours
- Stop exfoliating the skin being treated for at least 72 hours in advance of treatment
- Wait at least 3 weeks before having other treatments such as BOTOX, dermal filler injections, and chemical peels
- Skip waxing and tanning for several weeks
