Reverse Signs of Aging Using Chemical Peels

Reverse Signs of Aging Using Chemical Peels

June 28, 2017 by Chris Gagnes

The idea of reversing the signs of aging is extremely appealing to many people. As we get older, there are so many things about our appearance that change. For example, the condition of our skin is not what it used to be. In our youth, we have skin that is well-hydrated, firm and plump. As the years go by, this situation dramatically changes. We are left with skin that is dull, damaged and definitely not as firm and hydrated as it used to be. Chemical peels are a great solution that can help you reverse some of the common signs of aging and help you look younger.

Chemical peels have been tested time and again and have consistently produced fantastic results for many types of people with varying skin conditions. Because no two people are exactly alike, we offer many different types of chemical peels. Lighter chemical peels can be used to treat skin issues such as brown spots and fine lines and wrinkles while improving the overall health of your skin.

Deeper problems, however, require deeper treatment. Sun-damaged or more deeply wrinkled skin would benefit more from a phenol or TCA peel. We often recommend these peels for clients who are dealing with more deeply set wrinkles, difficult brown spots and problems with skin texture.

Clients who want to target acne, age spots, melasma and fine lines would benefit from the gentle ReVitalize Peel, while Face-A-New is designed to improve the tone and texture of the skin and promote future healing by kick starting collagen production. Both of these peels can be safely used on almost every skin type.

So why do chemical peels work? For one, they work in the same way that other skin treatments that include exfoliation do. It helps get rid of the outermost layers of skin that mostly consist of dead skin cells, oil and dirt. Once this layer is removed, the more youthful and fresher looking skin underneath is revealed. Next, many chemical peels encourage the skin to start producing more beneficial substances, like collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, all of which help your skin look hydrated and young.

Many have noticed that after just one chemical peel, their fine lines have disappeared. In many cases, these fine lines are simply the result of the top dead layers of skin that are creasing. This is why even lighter peels can do much to improve the appearance of fine lines.

Chemical peels are among the most effective treatments available when it comes to reversing the signs of aging on your skin. Whether you are dealing with fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage or acne, we will likely be able to find a peel that works for you.

The specialists at Facial Aesthetic Concepts are proud to provide many different types of chemical peels for almost any skin concern. Contact us today at any of our three offices in San Clemente, Aliso Viejo or Rancho Santa Margarita to schedule a consultation to learn more about how chemical peels can keep your skin looking its best.
