Now that wearing masks have become the norm, your eyes have become more important than EVER, in conveying how you feel.

Your eyes can convey so much information about how you feel or what you are thinking without you saying a word. However, sometimes your eyes tell a different story. Right or wrong, when there is loose skin or eyelid bags, friends and family will mistakenly infer or ask if we are tired or upset. Even work associates will sometimes consider whether we have the energy or ability to keep up with " younger ” work associates.

Fortunately, there are many treatments that we offer at Facial Aesthetic Concepts that can help your appearance match the way that you feel!

Eyelid Treatment Options

The upper eyelids are a key culprit producing the appearance of sad and tired eyes.  Many people consider eye surgery when they have  excess skin   on the upper eyelid that hangs and covers either the eyelashes or the natural crease of the eyelid.

Upper blepharoplasty is the procedure of choice when comes to upper eyelid rejuvenation, and is commonly referred to as an upper eyelid lift. This procedure can be done in as little as one hour under local anesthesia in the office. The results can last many years and will go a long way in brightening up your eyes.

Forehead lift Procedure

The brow lift is a procedure designed to raise the eyebrows and smooth out the skin on the forehead. The procedure itself only focuses on the eyebrow and forehead area, but it can be combined with other facial plastic surgery procedures to achieve an even more youthful and refreshed look.

Common concerns treated by a forehead/brow lift are:

  • Heavy Brows
  • Heavy Eyelids
  • Visual Obstruction

At Facial Aesthetic Concepts, we perform brow lifts endoscopically (much like knee surgery) and with lasers, which requires smaller incisions and allows your surgeon to camouflage them within your hairline.

Our less invasive technique preserves hair and maintains the natural look and shape of the eyebrows. Most patients are ready to get back to their usual routine in about 7 to 10 days.

Under Eye Treatment Options

As you age, you tend to lose facial volume under the eye, which can lead to bags or dark circles under your eyes. While there are many other contributing factors to this problem, if there is volume loss it can be frequently improved with filler

If you have large eye bags, the only effective treatment is likely surgery, Fortunately, a lower lid blepharoplasty can be used to smooth these bags out. This unique procedure uses no visible incision to access and reposition the fat pad of the lower eyelid. The resulting change in fat position creates a smooth, natural appearance of the eyes and will last for many years.

In some cases, the skin beneath the eye is the underlying cause of “bags” and wrinkles beneath the eye. We found this to be so prevalent in our patients, because of this we created a very unique procedure, the Lower Lid Pinch, to address just the skin beneath the eyes.  It involves using a medication to free the skin from the underlying fat and muscle, allowing us to “pinch” the skin that will be removed and remove a very small ellipse of skin, resulting in a smooth lower eyelid contour.

Treatments for Hollow Under Eyes

Hollow eyes have several causes, including dehydration, smoking, and sleep issues, but one of the most common is aging. As you age the collagen around your eyes starts to diminish, which causes the eyes to appear sunken or hollow.

Contrary to popular belief, hollow eyes cannot be corrected through cosmetics, creams, or home remedies such as tea bags, all of which either just mask the problem or provide only temporary relief.

Two options that provide longer, more satisfying results for hollow eyes and eye bags are:

Fillers   - Soft and pliable, synthetic fillers do what they describe by "filling" in your hollow eyes to boost volume and provide the proper balance of stiffness and softness to achieve a natural, revitalized look around your eyes. Two proven fillers for hollow eyes are  Restalyne   and  Juvederm   .

Fat grafting  - Also known as "fat transfer," this is a process that removes your own body fat from an area such as the thighs or buttocks and is then injected into the hollow areas under your eyes. It is the same principle as fillers but uses your fat to restore volume and help achieve the same natural-looking result.
